F-1 student visa is required for academic studies at Universities or schools in the United States. Prospective students can only enroll in the schools or universities those are accredited by the Student and Visitor Exchange Program (SEVP). Duration of student visa is depends on duration of course enrolled by the prospective students.
General requirement to file F-1 visa:
- Must show evidence of having sufficient funds to support as a full-time student for duration of entire study program
- Must have proficiency in English language or enrolled into English proficiency classes.
- Enrollment into SEVP approved school as academic educational course, or a language training course
- Must have strong ties with native country and maintain residence in his or her home country
- Must enter the United States as a bona-fide student to pursue full course of study
