J-1 Exchange & visitor visa

J-1 Exchange & visitor visa: J-1 visa is nonimmigrant visa required for individuals who participate in educational and cultural exchanges program between the United States and other countries. As part of their exchange program, J-1 visa holder may be authorized to work in the United States. There is no number cap to issue J-1 visa every year. Exchange visitor categories include, teacher, trainee, physician, student and researcher.

General Requirements to file J-1 visa

Acceptance by designated sponsoring organization in the United States and issuance of form, DS-2019, certificate of eligibility for exchange visitor J-1 status.
Demonstrate to consular officer at U.S. consulate that you will departure from the United States at the conclusion of your exchange program.
Ability to support yourself during the period of your exchange program in the U.S.
